Remembering Auld Pals
We are still working on this part of the website as there are so many weans with so many stories.
It's a work in progress for now, but in their memory we will tell their stories.
There are many auld friends who are no longer with us on this side in this wee video, filmed in 2018.
At the Hospice we focus on life, not on death. We make every day as good as we can, doing things our friends enjoy, and giving them a peaceful, comfortable, interesting and adventurous life. However, we know that death is inevitable, and we face that reality when it comes.
It is our responsibility to make the right decision at the right time for our friends, as much as we are possibly able. Even after hundreds of 'farewells', it is still very hard, though, every single time.
Farewells always come too soon, but we accept that they come and we do our best to make them as comfortable and dignified as we can. We are there, with our friends, singing their wee songs, remembering the good times, with their favourite sweeties, a warm hug, and gently whispering that we will always love them.
We love and miss you, weans, you are always in our hearts.
