We have very sad news about Kilo.

Kilo has been to the vet several times recently because of loss of appetite, diarrhoea and seeming to be in pain when he was walking since he had become a bit reluctant to go for a walk in the morning and appeared to be a bit stiff and possibly sore. He seemed to be a bit down and even stiffer yesterday afternoon so I had booked an appointment to see a vet in Falkirk this morning. I gave him some food last night around about 6.30 pm but he wasn’t interested and went outside and was sick, so I thought that he still had a bit of an upset tummy, and he seemed to want to stay in the conservatory – his room.

I went back in to check on him again just after 8pm and there was a big change in him. He was quite “flat” and his gums were very pale, so we took him to the local out of hours vet. The vet carried out bloods and an ultrasound scan which showed a mass around his spleen and fluid in his abdomen which checked out as being from blood loss. Given the findings and the prognosis, we had no choice other than to let him go. He went very peacefully and without pain.

Kilo came to us on 20 July 2018 with a life expectancy of 3 months. Kilo was a fighter and a lover of life for all of the 19 months that we were fortunate to have him, but, in the end, this was one fight that even he could not win.
